Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud was a French poet. Born in Charleville, Ardennes, he produced his best known works while still in his late teens—Victor Hugo described him at the time as "an infant Shakespeare"—and he gave up creative writing altogether before the age of 20. As part of the decadent movement, Rimbaud influenced modern literature, music and art. He was known to have been a libertine and a restless soul, travelling extensively on three continents before his death from cancer just after his 37th birthday.Make Statue d'Arthur Rimbaud a centerpiece of your Paris vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Paris trip itinerary site .
Statue d'Arthur Rimbaud Reviews
Paris (Parma r d e) for Rimbaud, does no better than Marseille (Park of the Prado) or Charleville, his hometown. At least in this last, Arthur resembles Tintin.
Cette statue en bronze , qui est censée honorer notre poète " Arthur Rimbaud " , est étrange et plutôt artistiquement originale et réussie . Mais il y a un " mais " !! Elle s'intitule aussi " L'Homme ... more »This bronze statue, which is supposed to honor our poet "Arthur Rimbaud" is strange and rather artistically original and successful. But there is a 'but'. It is also called "The man with soles before", the nickname of Rimbaud was for his friends "The man with soles of wind", which is not at all the same thing. The pun, that used the sculptor Ipousteguy, was considered unworthy of the work of the poet, as indeed, it really represented him with her to spare soles of the body. The work represents a man lying with only upper body emerging from the front of the boat. His arm, holding his head rests on his legs with feet that are emerging on the other side of the boat. The boat is supposed to represent the author's work "The drunken boat" If you go there, near "Sully Morland" metro station, place of the father Teilhard Chardin in the 4th district, stop a moment, the work is worth it.
The statue which is closest to the Portal game. See the picture to understand it.
