Rue d'Alesia, Paris

#1009 of 2,938 in Things to do in Paris
A major street in the south of Paris, Rue d'Alesia runs along the entire east-west length of the XIVe arrondissement and is one of the few streets in Paris named after a French defeat, or more precisely, a Gallic defeat: the Battle of Alesia. On this strip of shops, you will discover great finds for discounted prices. In addition to clothing, find stores for shoes, bags, accessories, and even wine. When your feet get tired, head to one of the charming cafés and enjoy some refreshments.

Regular destinations like movie theaters, hotels, and fast food restaurants are onsite as well. Rue d'Alesia is also quite popular with the locals, so you won’t be crowded by tourists all day. To visit Rue d'Alesia on your trip to Paris, use our Paris trip builder website .
