  • In the 13th arrondissement, as every year, the Mairie de Paris, Les associations and Tang Frères, organise the now famous Asian new year parade. The route is simple and passes through the avenues of Ivry and choisy and the Boulevard Massena. On this occasion all vehicles in the Park are removed to clear the spaces. And then there are the front parades made up of the SERENADES before the shops by the groups of lions with shimmering colors that make exhibitions and dances to the sound of percussion. Animated by young people, this show is really an event with a whole ceremonial and the explosions of firecrackers, which punctuate the show. And all of this of course "to make the bad spirits go away" that could ruin the business during the year!! For over 20 years, as I have seen this parade, it does not change much every year but nevertheless it is for me and my friends, who are at the front row, a real delight. It shows the groups of associations of the different communities, Chinese of Sichuan, Hainan, southern provinces, Vietnamese who share their feast of the Tet. Orchestras give voice by rhythm of the shows by young people in traditional costumes very colorful, wearing oriflames. Buddha and Confucius are worn by carts and each can deposit and burn incense. The Lions with multiple colors, worn by two young, one on the shoulders of the other, make dance movements, under the rhythmic sounds of the percussion. Dragons draw ripples in space, worn by very clever young people!! The parade ends with two bands of very Latin African Orchestra, followed by a dancing crowd with very syncosed rhythms with percussion and winds. I have not seen a lot of pig effigies this time, here it is weird! A compact crowd presses along the avenues to see this show that lasts more than two hours. I like this atmosphere, which warns us that the beautiful days are back, farewell the winter and the sky plumbed Parisian! Access is via the Metro stations of line no. 7, Tolbiac, White House, Porte de choisy and Ivry. For lovers of Chinese astrological signs here are some traits of the pig: he likes to indulge, eat, drink, love, go out, have fun... The pig loves to enjoy the existence, and can not bear the monotony. He needs to get out. He's a full-tooth booby! He loves to taste the good dishes of a restaurant, or buy at all goes.... Attentive, he likes to make his entourage happy. It's not because he likes to be happy that the pig is selfish. The people born under this sign are, on the contrary, very good family leaders. He prefers to have few friends, but reliable. He is honest and always thinks before he acts. The pig is not an impulsive. He's not going to start with intuition. This reasonable side is one of its peculiarities. Its dominant is the Yin (associated with the Yan which is the warm, the fire, the masculine, the yin is neutrality, the Earth, the cold, the feminine, the Moon)

  • Very atypical area of Paris. It is a trip to Southeast Asia that awaits you not so much by architecture, not very beautiful, as by the ambiance. Walking Street permanent Avenue de choisy, Asian signs that sell everything everywhere. A myriad of restaurants in almost all regions with very good surprises and less good but at reasonable prices. You have to get lost in these streets and let your eyes wander around to discover the many facets. There are often many people in the streets as in restaurants.
