Although Pont des Invalides is most commonly known as the lowest bridge traversing the Seine, it holds historical significance as well. When you visit this site, be sure to learn its story, which starts in 1821 with Claude Navier. Navier once imagined a revolutionary bridge that crossed the Seine in one single reach, without any point of support in between. Due to cracks in some parts of the bridge and gradual settling, the project was abandoned before the bridge even made it into service. • We passed the bridge once, has beautiful pillars with sculptures rich in detail! When on this bridge take advantage to enjoy and take several photos from different angles of the bridge Alexandre III which is much more beautiful and imposing.

  • It is not the main bridge connecting to the great historical complex of Les Invalides, which gives the name to this bridge, this crossing was built in the first half of the century. XIX, but in 1854, it was demolished to be replaced by a new one in time for the 1855 World Fair in Paris. It has on the bases that sit on the bed of the Seine, interesting figures in stone.

  • Vert bridgey
  • The open public place and large green area adds to the grandeur of the Muses De L'Armee and opens up the central location of Paris filled with historic buildings and grand boulevards to the south bank of the river Seine
