  • The square is located in Paul Verlaine "Butte aux Cailles" a graceful former workers ' village made up of narrow streets quiet, tree-lined squares and lively local delicious. One of these squares is the one dedicated to the poet P.Verlaine.Su one side of the square there is a building in art Nouveau style with a beautiful red-brick façade with 3 swimming pools including two outdoors. In the middle there is a fountain unique because it draws water from a deep well about 600 m built around the middle of the 800 and renovated in 2000. Here you will see the Parisians with cans and bottles to collect the water often in a row. Visit this corner of Paris unusual!

  • The Paul Verlaine in the 13th district, square at the intersection of streets Samson and the mill of meadows. She has the distinction of having a real spring water fountain, out of an artesian well which plunges more than 600 m below the surface. The water is absolutely delicious, that is to say it is slightly sulphurous, rich in iron and low in calcium and fluorine. The water is below the Paris Basin called aquifer of the Albian, water being imprisoned there since several tens of thousands of years. Many residents come to pure water. This drilling was decided under Haussmann and a brilliant idea by François Arago and ends in 1872. The fountain that exists today dates from 1999. The pool of the quail, which is side facing South of the square, has long fueled by this well whose water comes out at 28 degrees. This pool is one of the oldest in Paris since built between 1922 and 1924, the style "Art Nouveau" buildings being fashionable at the time, building in brick, big bow and roof openings in Slate. This place also has the feature, view its position high in altitude, to serve starting in the first human flight in a balloon powered by a Flash in the Pan, in 1783 while this place was occupied at the time by fields and windmills. The Sieur Pilâtre de Rozier and the Marquis of Arlandes are the first to achieve this feat. Finally the place welcomes also the bust of Sergeant Jules Bobillot dead in Hanoi in 1885, and the third Republic made a Colonial National hero of the Franco-Chinese war and including the street bears his name. The place is accessible by the metro station "Place of Italy" lines No. 5, 6 and 7 by taking the Samson Street.
