Formerly known as passerelle Solférino, Passerelle Leopold-Sedar-Senghor is a footbridge over the River Seine and is considered one of the most scenic spots in Paris. You can stop by for a relaxing stroll while enjoying the sights and sounds of the city.

Crossing the Seine with a single span and no piers, this metallic bridge is architecturally unique and covered in exotic woods, which gives it a light and warm appearance. Its solidity is, however, never in doubt--at either end, its foundations are in the form of concrete pillars, and the structure itself is made up of six 150 ton components built by the Eiffel engineering company, Eiffel Constructions métalliques. Its innovative architecture brought Marc Mimram the Prix de l'Équerre d'Argent award in 1999.

The bridge also has benches where you can rest your feet as well as lampposts to light your way. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Paris holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Passerelle Leopold-Sedar-Senghor and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • The Passerelle Leopold-Sedar-Senghor, formerly known as "Pont de Solférino", is a pedestrian crossing, also with some padlocks. It has the particularity of being traverted in two forms on the same board, with access to the main avenues, at the top, and access to the pier areas of the two shores. There is the possibility to choose in the middle of the board, which level you want to follow. It is a work inaugurated in the finals of the century. Xx

  • It is a bridge from Orsay to Tuileries Park. It is located in the heart of Paris, and the sunset over the Seine from this bridge was very beautiful. There is a bench in the center of the bridge where you can relax. "Padlock of love" is put tightly in the column drying and seems to be heavy.

  • Beautiful footbridge to walk on, connecting Jardin des Tuileries and Musée d’Orsay. According to Wikipedia, exotic woods like Brazilian trees are used on the decking of this bridge. Modern looking bridge but it has a nice warm feeling. Top of the Eiffel tower can be seen from the bridge.
  • Beautiful bridge. Love locks all over the railings. Nice spot for photos and a pleasant walk to the right bank.
