Passage Verdeau, Paris

4.3
#41 of 423 in Shopping in Paris
This covered walkway, Passage Verdeau, lends an air of elegant charm with its neoclassical glass roof and fine shops. Although connected to other passages, including passages Panoramas and Jouffroy, this lesser known aisle has a stretch of antique stores, rare bookshops, and vintage dealers, making it an interesting place for you to shop for souvenirs. You also can’t miss the century-old photo shop that has existed since 1901.

Passage Verdeau was constructed in 1847 and is named after M. Verdeau. It’s also located right next door to the famous antiques and fine art auction house of Hotel Drouot. For Passage Verdeau and beyond, use our Paris road trip tool to get the most from your Paris vacation.

  • It is the northernmost of the other passages: Jouffroy and panoramas. It is covered with a canopy and ornamed with a kind of lanterns. We discover many antique shops, and original boutiques, with old storefronts, selling antique books, or postcards, prints..... It is nice to walk there on rainy days or waiting for a show.
