Passage des Panoramas is a roofed commercial passageway located between the Montmartre boulevard to the North and Saint-Marc street to the south. It is one of the earliest venues of the Parisian philatelic trade, and it was one of the very first covered, airy commercial passageways in the world. Keep in mind, while you visit, that you are viewing the precursor to all the city gallerias of the 19th century and the covered suburban and city shopping malls of the 20th century.
Over the centuries, Passage des Panoramas has been home to many famous commercial establishments and institutions such as the Académie Julian. Today, you can explore quality bars and restaurants, vintage postcard shops, and philatelist boutiques. First up is the quirky Victoria Station, where you can dine in what looks like a velvet-lined train carriage, followed by the gorgeous wood-fronted Arbre à Cannelle, Indian and Chinese restaurants, and more. This walkway, admire its long canopy, is decorated with many shops: philately. and restaurants, often "mono" ie presenting only a dish ex: ensaladas or no gluten On the right we can still see the decoration of the former chocolatier. The 3 galleries of this passage have been the subject of many descriptions by Zola in Nana, because, among other things, is the exit of the artists from the theatre of Variety . Today, the 2 Towers have disappeared, but the passage has kept its animation especially since from the crossroads where is located the old shop Stern reviewed by PF Stark , my part in pituous summer is more and more renovated
1pm. A grey Sunday in Paris. I was alone. I wanted to have lunch at Astier. They offered me a table on the side of the bar totally isolated from the restaurant or the bar accros the door. Not on a cold day like today. Thanks very much. Rude welcoming while the restaurant was half empty. Another new Parisian address who forgot the first commandment: To welcome customers!
Love this passage. It's one of the very nice area of Paris to around at night
