  • The vast Champ de Mars (900 m by 400 m) , a former place of military manoeuvring attached to the Military School located on the south side, is responsible for many happy or tragic events in the history of France since 1765. Its name comes from the God Mars of War. Today, with the Eiffel Tower as a tourist rallying point, it is a place to walk and sometimes to celebrate or celebrate. It was used at the Universal Exhibitions in the 19th and 20th centuries." It is bordered by shady alleys where it is nice to relax in reverse of the central parterre devoid of shade, whose lawn disappears as soon as the tourist season progresses. There are many people on the central plain land, to admire the Eiffel Tower and take pictures. I still despair that the condition of the central lawn is severely degraded and especially poorly maintained !!! As we approach the Eiffel Tower, we see the superb monument "Human Rights and the Citizen" in the shape of a truncated pyramid that marked the bicentenary of the Revolution in 1989, right next to the bandstand. Every year, on the occasion of the national holiday of July 14, a big concert is held in front of the Eiffel Tower which ends with a great fireworks display. Access to the Champ de Mars is accessed either by the metro station "La Motte Picquet Grenelle" lines 6, 8 and 10 and then taking the eponymous avenue towards the Military School. On the north side, the station of the RER E "Champ de Mars Eiffel Tower" gives access to the Champ de Mars on the Seine side. On the east side, the station "Military School" line 8 gives access to the southern part of the Champ de Mars.

  • It's quite the idea that we have of a Parisian park, very well maintained, surrounded by monuments including the Eiffel Tower, we can walk there, there are a lot of joggers, people snacking, etc... A real place of sharing between locals and visitors. It's got everything you need to have a good time there.

  • Lovely park to visit while you are near the Eiffel tower. During the winter this place is a bit unvisited by tourists. The gardens are very clean and green! You should visit there with your kids and beloved spouse, especially during the summer. If you want to see the whole scenery of the gardens, you will have to go to the Eiffel tower. Take into consideration that it will cost you!! But if you just want to spend time with your family it isn't necessary at all. I advice to have a picnic near the gardens :)
