Parc Andre-Citroen is a blooming public park located on the left bank of the river Seine. If you’re looking to get away from the bustle of the city, try this verdant haven, embellished with two greenhouse pavilions that host exotic plants and Mediterranean vegetation, and are separated by running fountains.
As you venture to the southern part of the park, you’ll find a monumental canal, the "Jardin des Métamorphoses", composed of an elevated reflecting pool. Head to the northern side for the six "Serial Gardens", each with a distinct landscape and architectural design, and a "Garden in Movement" that presents wild grasses selected to respond at different rates to wind velocity. A modern park very compartmentalized and very mineralized. The vegetation there is not flourishing. The lawns are stoned and weeded due to the high attendance. The waterfalls that descend downhill towards the central esplanade are dry. The water in the ditches is dirty and languishing. The only good idea of this park are the different small gardens of which each has its own style, located a lower level than the esplanade. They offer relative calm and intimacy. The aisles are uncharming. The footbridge that can be used at the greenhouses does not offer any visibility to the park. This park is noisy and was obviously not designed to be a space dedicated to nature. An urban planning operation in a modern suburb unattractive and yet not far from the Eiffel Tower. A delirium of architect and real estate developer. As for the hot air balloon, it is free advertising for a large insurance company on the back of the environment. Frankly, to sponsor a communication operation on air quality, I certainly would not have chosen a giant of finance and globalization. There is like a slight philosophical and ethical distortion.... Another problem of intellectual coherence. So what's the point of colanding a queue to get on board and see what in the end? The drinking water fountain, on the other hand, is a good idea to remind us that in Paris water is a public service. And the pun, not bad: water is indeed capital in a capital, a megacity that concentrates several million inhabitants. This park is of no interest. Zap without remorse!
It's just by the quieter part of the Seine River., located just adjacent to Hopital George Pompedieu (not sure of spelling). When they released the ducks on the little canals in the park, it's lovely to watch these feathered creatures. Enjoy
Beautifully modern and minimalistic park, it could have been designed by IKEA designers. A lot of greens and places for kids to spend their energy. Also a top place for wedding pictures or Instagram pictures. The Sunday is packed with families with the kids playing around, joggers going around. There is a lot of places to sit and enjoy the views. The public toilets are clean and there is a drinkable water fountain. A restaurant serving snacks at the entrance in front of the hospital.
