Portraying a bit of history, Museum of Letters and Manuscripts (Musee des Lettres et Manuscrits) is a museum with an impressive collection of historical letters and manuscripts. Here, you can view nearly 250 original manuscripts and letters, including the ceasefire order signed by Dwight D. Eisenhower on May 7, 1945, poems of Paul Éluard, and a love letter by Théodore Géricault. Other items of interest include documents written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franklin D. Roosevelt, René Descartes, La Rochefoucauld, Voltaire, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau.

  • Unlikely, small, quiet (despite animations for kids), under ground and then the nearby with beautiful people: Pierre Curie (feminist prematurely), Saint Ex (drawings) and Hugo, and some Russians... Go fast! After several visits, I still moved. Ah! The original typescript of on the road... And then be curious: look at who voted the death of Louis XVI.

  • I can confirm this museum is definitely still closed as at July 2017. Disappointed that my Lonely Planet guidebook (Jan 2017 edition), didn't spot this. They're normally very accurate.  more »
