  • In the square Alexander and René Parodi, you will discover this superb monument stone fountain, created in 1900 by the renowned sculptor Jules Aimé Dale, died in Paris in 1902. It is the sculptor Camille Lefevre, who finished the work. It will be inaugurated in 1907. On this great relief, you can admire the Emile Levassor engineer, constructor of the first petrol car, which is at the wheel of his car. A fine achievement in all its details.

  • This monument to the motorist, is in form of great gate to columns and capital of classic style, with stone. It is placed in the right place, since 1907, on the place of the Jersey side South door. Indeed, many motorists, circulating on the place, give meaning to this monument! It is dedicated to the engineer Emile Levassor, who created the first gasoline car in 1895 and subsequent years. But today, who consider this a feat?... Since the democratization of the automobile. The sculpture represents Emile Levassor leaning forward, driving his Panhard, upon arrival of the Paris Bordeaux Paris Racing, with an average of 24 km/h. The scene also represents spectators, who cheer the winner, which go toward the finish line. This happened in the spring of 1895. This expressive and embossed work is the sculptor Jule Dale, at the instigation of Pierre Giffard, the Petit Journal, which launches a subscription for its financing Director. Initially placed at the entrance of the Bois de Boulogne, this sculpture was moved in 1972 to the porte Maillot, during the construction of the ring road. The architect who signed it is "Banks in 1907" this monument is original, by the nature of the sculptures, which give an impression of movement to the automobile, which extracts the framework and who go to the finish line. It is accessible from the metro station "Porte Maillot" line no. 1 and of the RER C. We must then work around the place by the South and reach the square René Parodi.
