  • This monument is located in the square of the Porte Maillot in the 16th arrondissement. He pays tribute to General Koenig, who has joined France Libre in 1940 and has fought on several fronts, notably in North Africa. He was then appointed General Manager of the FFI in 1944 and was honoured by a quotation from General de Gaulle, which was reproduced on the base of the monument. It is engraved "know and tell your troops that France is watching you and you are his pride" on June 10, 1942: this monumental and imposing work, called "the wind of battles", represents a pile of stainless steel parts and elements, which are derived s of recoveries, as the sculptor Caesar does. It was Albert Féraud, who authored it, with the collaboration of architect Marc Landowski in 1984. It represents in an abstract way, the aftermath of the battles that destroy the machines as would a violent wind! There are pipes, broken castings, sharp spikes pointing to the sky, lids, etc. on the pedestal are engraved the General's weapon facts and a medallion with his effigy and fixed on a rough marble plate. Albert Feraud is still a Grand Prix of sculpture in Rome in 1951 and a member of the Academy of fine arts in 1989. This monument is accessible by the Metro station "Porte Maillot" line no. 1

  • Next to the place de la Porte Maillol, on the edge of the peripheral Boulevard, is the square Alexandre and René Parodi, two companions of the liberation. As you walk there, you cannot fail to see the monumental stainless steel sculpture titled "the wind of battles", made in 1984 in homage to General Koenig by the sculptor Albert Féraud and the architect Marc Landowski. He wrote the message that General de Gaulle had sent him. A modern sculpture.
