  • Less famous than Lasz. The area is not that big, and it is divided into two parts by one road. The layout is well-planned, and the tombs of celebrities are relatively better to find. The humanist atmosphere is strong, and Baudelaire, Sartre, Povova, Moposan, Beckett, author of Waiting for Godot, and Zara, the founder of Dadaism, all sleep here. The cemetery is clean, well maintained, lush, beautiful and moving.

  • Start with a map of who is buried here and then seek out the graves of those you know. Lots of artists as this was once an artists' quarter. A nice park.  more »

  • Such a peaceful and beautiful place to walk around and remember the history and people of Paris in years gone by. Truly quite fascinating to walk through and see the crypts both new and old side by side, an interesting testament to the way Paris has endured as a city with so many eras cohesively blending together.
  • Beautiful and somewhat chilling. It's amazing that there are whole sections of the cemetery are from within the last decade mixed in with crypts that are much older. A timeless place.
