Marche Grenelle, Paris

4.5
#762 of 2,938 in Things to do in Paris
Marche Grenelle passes through the neighborhoods of St.-Germain-des-Prés , St.-Thomas d'Aquin, district Invalides, and district Gros Caillou. It got its name from a practical purpose--it linked the city to the former village of Grenelle. In many ways, this is a typical Parisian street, with restaurants, cafes, shops, and even an open food market. However, you can find some special spots here: No. 38 is the shop of famed shoemaker Christian Louboutin, and at No. 129 you will find the Hôtel des Invalides, which houses the army museum. • It's a market that's held on Wednesdays and Sundays, under an overpass, so you can shop without worrying about the weather. At first, it takes courage, but the shop is kind and you can shop if you point your finger at it. Don't forget to say hello.

  • Between The metro exits Dupleix i la Motte-Piquet extends on Wednesdays and Sundays a market to which the people of the neighborhood come to make their purchases of food, flowers and sometimes some clothes, tablecloths and even shoes. DePending on whether it is summer or winter the stores change. In winter There are more fish, vegetables, cheeses and meats; In summer more prepared dishes and goods for tourism but in general the quality of the genre is excellent, suitable for everyday consumption. You can see mushrooms at the beginning of the season, very fresh vegetables, Mediterranean fruits and prices are more affordable than in the surrounding shops. If you want to know a real French market and you find yourself near the Eiffel Tower, do not hesitate to walk around the market of Grenelle. In any other neighborhood, ask for their market, because they abound in Paris.

  • It is one of the greatest market in Paris. Well oragnanized. Near station duplex is almost about food.
  • Great place if you want find some local cheeses or other products from France. You probably won’t be able to speak in English with salesmen but it still worth to see this place.
