  • I came to the George Brassens market with my dad when I was younger. It is a beautiful place and we wanted to make it discover to our children, now that their Grandpa is no longer there to do it. There are beautiful finds, and strolling between the different stands, we realize that in view of the quality of the works and their packaging, they are mainly books of collection. Still there are children's books, that was the purpose of our visit. My eight-year-old son was gently leafed through a book (as is commonly what one would like to do before deciding on his choice...), when the salesman came, took the book from his hands and closed it before telling us that it was not a library and that we were coming here to buy! I've been speechless. My husband who was at another booth with my two other kids wanted to take a picture of a book for one of his colleagues when the seller came to reproach him for looking for prices on the Internet. This was absolutely not his intention but he could not say a Word so much the salesman was angry and was taking it verbally. In my life, I have never seen any behavior as little trader and brings! What do they hope to do in this way? I was even ashamed that my children were able to attend this. We who are big readers and have always taken care to share our passion with them, encouraging them to read, to enjoy manipulating the books, to take our time to choose them at best, what a disappointment! Really, if you like the beautiful works that you can touch only eyes, you may find your happiness. As far as we are concerned, this is the last time we go to the Georges Brassens market and it is a shame...

  • There will be time to review all the stalls some well ordered and other real clutter. But it is the place where you can find some real gems at very interesting prices. Novels, beautiful books, history books, cartoons and strips drawn but also old postcards, vinyl, CD... It's always fun to chat with vendors or book lovers who will urge every weekend from 9 hours.
