  • A nice park like so many in Paris. You can sit and relax or just stroll around and make your way to the Champs Elysée and further to the Arc de Triomphe.  more »
  • The Ambassadors' Garden runs along the right side of the lower Elysées fields, between place de la Concorde and Avenue de Matignon. On the model of the "English Gardens", then fashionable under Napoleon III, Jean Charles Alphand (1817-1891) organized very varied spaces from 1840. This garden has groves, green spaces with flower beds, fountains and prestigious buildings, such as the Marigny Theatre or the Pierre Cardin Space and the famous Gabriel Pavilion with its chic lounges. The luxury restaurant, Elysées Le Nôtre is located near Marigny Avenue. Benches allow you to land and admire the spaces of this charming place. What makes the interest of this space, is that the décor changes as you walk around with a cleverly organized staging. The fountain of Venus, which can be seen when we arrive next to Place de la Concorde, is the work of Jacques Hittorf, the decorator of the square, in 1840. Next door, Espace Cardin is a Theatre of the City of Paris. Further on, after crossing the Avenue de Marigny, the fountain of the Four Seasons makes its sweet song heard. Four cherubs representing the seasons, support a cauldg surrounded by lion heads spitting water. This fountain in the middle of a large flowerbed, has a very romantic look. This space, also called Marigny Square, pays tribute to the french resistance fighter Jean Moulin (1899-1943). The monument, made of several bronze figures, is amazing lying about creativity. The Marigny Theatre, next door, also offers a dining room with terrace overlooking the garden. A very simple fountain, called "Fountain of the Rooster" is located just in front of the entrance known as "Du Coq" of the Elysée Presidential Palace. Alphonse Daudet ( 1840-1897) , naturalist writer has his statue in the middle of a grove as well as President Georges Pompidou ( 1911-1974) . Located right next to the Champs Elysees, but separated by a shady promenade, the garden does not suffer too much from traffic on the avenue. This garden is open all the time. Access is from the "Concorde" Station, lines 1, 8 and 12 for the parts near the square and from the Champs Elysees Clémenceau station for the opposite parties.
