In that period we progressed from A2 level (Elementary/upper beginner) to B1/B2 (intermediate/upper intermediate). If that doesn't sound like a lot, it's the difference between knowing how to form the present, imperfect, and past composed, and being able to discuss almost any subject with a degree of sophistication (admittedly, with lots of gentle correction). I arrived having taught myself some grammar and messed around on Duolingo a bit, and after three weeks I was happily participating in class debates on every subject from the environment to social media. Melanie taught us the first month and we loved her, so much so that we were disappointed when we found out we would not have her for the second month-only to discover that we loved Michael just as much. The school's teaching focusses on speaking as much as possible, but you'll also get a thorough understanding of grammar, play games, and do listening practice with music and videos. Leaving aside all the technical description, choosing to study at langue Appart ' was one of the best things we have ever done as a couple. We had so much fun, made great friends, and took a big step along the road to French fluency. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer, and spend more time with Michael, Melanie, and Carolina.

We were drawn to the school initially due to the unwaveringly positive reviews on TripAdvisor, and I am delighted to now add our own five star review to the list: the school, specifically the teachers (and the wonderful Carolina) absolutely exceeded all expectations and we have nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. We would heartily recommend langue Appart ' to anyone wishing to learn English. The school, and therefore the classes, are quite small (we were in a class of nine at most, four at the least) which makes learning much easier and more interesting. It was also very easy to make friends, especially with the social events: Michael's excellent walking tours and the monthly picnic! Both Mélanie and Michael are outstanding teachers: patient, funny, respectful, kind, but also incredibly experienced and knowledgable; easily able to explain the nuances of grammar or subtleties of the meaning of words. It was a great pleasure getting to know them both, and I am in no doubt that it was their teaching ability that helped us improve so much. The school's coordinator, Carolina, was an absolute delight as well! Both my husband and I went from being faltering and uncomfortable speaking English in public to speaking with confidence-and enjoying it! We are sad to be going home, but very much hope to return one day. Thank you very much Melanie, Michael and Carolina!
I’ve been to a couple of other French schools and Langue Appart by far my favourite. After just one month of lessons I feel like my level has improved so much. It’s a small and intimate school with excellent teachers who made learning fun!
A really nice school with a devoted team of teachers. The classes consists of few students, which is very nice, so you feel there is enough time for each student. There is a very warm atmosphere at the school, and again the teachers are so nice! I was at the school for one month, and it really improved my french skills. So hurry up and book your stay!
