I got a very committed, knowledgeable and friendly treatment all the time and I learned a lot new about painting and artistic expression that I could take with me back to Stockholm. In addition, it was a positive and creative atmosphere in the studio and you could exchange experiences with other students on the course. Patrick also speaks Swedish which was an advantage in my case when my French is quite knoppy. If you want to make a variation of the classic painting trip to Paris, as many aspirated artists have done for centuries, I would highly recommend Patrick's courses.

I found Patrick because I was looking for an English-speaking painting class in Paris, but also something that didn't feel tailored for expats or tourists. I was thrilled to be in an environment where I met lovely French people and where it was fine to only speak English (or Swedish, as Patrick speaks that too). Patrick is an exceptionally talented painter with beautiful works, so it's a pleasure to learn from him. I was (and still am!) a beginner and Patrick was understanding and helpful. He was also very accommodating with my changing schedule. I also took a life drawing class that was excellent as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his classes.
Canadian expat looking to build drawing and language skills in Paris was pleased to discover La Villa Bastille. Internationals and loyal locals enjoy the quintessential Parisian studio under the kind and talented mentorship of our instructor, Patrick. Tea time made for interesting conversations and great immersion. Patrick is multilingual and everyone feels welcome. I enjoyed the music too! Patric offers art excursions to interesting places as well!
