  • At first glance at the fresco "Chuuuttt!!!", located between the Church of Saint-Merri and the fountain Stravinsky, a few meters from the Centre Pompidou, it is difficult to realise that this is a self-portrait of Jean-François Perroy, alias Jef aerosol, eyes wide open and an index perpendicular to the mouth, to say "Hush!". According to the now internationally known pochoirist artist: "Chuuutt!!! is not there to ask people to shut up! He is not there to ask for silence. He is there to say that there may be things to listen to, which you do not usually listen to. Once in the stress of the city, people have the impression that the soundtrack of the urban world, these are only car engines or police sirens. But there are also kids playing soccer, there are tourists chatting, there are birds singing. There is the noise of the ladies ' heels in the spring, there are the saltimbanks of the Beaubourg square that play music and make theatre. As a musician, I like to ask people to pay a little attention to this great urban Symphony. And then – without speaking in a low voice – there is also simply the fact of saying: listen to each other. So, not content to Excel in his art, Jef aerosol makes us touch the hidden poetry under the technique and the pictorial innovation implemented for the realization of this table of 350 square meters which, during its inauguration in 2012 was not to be perenne, but escaped its planned demolition in 2014 thanks to its full adoption by the public and its perfect insertion into the urban landscape. Too bad a part of the mural was covered with tags.

  • This fresco of 350 m2, made according to the stencil technique, overlooks the Stravinsky fountain. It was carried out in three days in June 2011. This is the self-portrait, in black and white, of Jef aerosol. He has his eyes and the forefinger on his mouth. There's a red arrow. Present on all his works, this red arrow is the signature of Jef aerosol. Jef aerosol, real name Jean-François Perroy, is a French street artist. Considered a historical figure of street art, he painted a little around the world. In order to allow the wall to be ravaged, the fresco should have been destroyed in 2014. Today it is still there and is now part of the Parisian heritage. In August 2018, Jef aerosol restored his fresco that was beginning to grow old. Why Chuuutttt!!! One would have thought that this was a strong message, but it is far from the case. According to the artist, he asks for silence to ask us to listen to what we do not usually hear: the cries of the children, the song of the birds, the melody of the languages of the tourists, the noise of the heels of the ladies... In short, a message without interest and a great banality. On the other hand, the self-portrait probably reveals the narcissistic side of the artist. The fresco is however beautiful and integrates harmoniously into the décor.
