  • The fountains of the Théâtre-français, commissioned by Baron Haussmann to the architect Gabriel Davioud and made between 1867 and 1874, are located in the District of the Palais-Royal, a few meters from the station "pyramids" of line 14 and the station "Museum of Louvre-Palais Royal "lines 1 and 7, a few steps from the place Colette, the Comédie Française and the Musée du Louvre, and at the end of the Avenue de L'opéra. The two fountains, which are said to be twins, inspired by the Petraïa, are composed of a circular basin, a bronze washbasin of 4.5 meters on a pedestal adorned with child figures, receiving the jets of water of Heads of Lions placed on a pedestal pilaster surmounted by the bronze statue of a nymph. The one, side Rue Richelieu, carries in its Ridge the winged River nymph holding a Reed, work by Mathurin Moreau, overlooking a round of children of Charles Gauthier being part of the pedestal of the lower basin of the work. The other side, rue Saint-Honoré, supports the Nymphe marine work of Albert-Ernest carrier-Belleuse, dominating another round of children made by the sculptor Louis Eudes. The two fountains are placed symmetrically on the place André Malraux (called place du Théâtre français until 1977), on each side of the Avenue de L'opéra which crosses diagonally, and they embellish the crossroads between the Avenue de L'opéra and Rue de Rivoli.

  • The existence in the French capital Of the tiny square bearing the name of the hero of the French Resistance, the ideologist of the Fifth Republic and the Minister of Culture in the government of Charles de Gaulle-Andre Malro (André Malraux)-probably know not all Parisians. Although This area is almost in the "heart" of Paris, a couple of steps from the garden of Palais Royal. It is at the junction of this square and the streets of Richelieu, the building of the Comedy Franciz (Comedie Francaise), the theater, founded in 1680 year!!! There is another majestic building, the four-star hotel Du Louvre. But I was attracted not mentioned...

  • Nice fountain. One of many nice structures in Paris.
  • A pretty fountain on an equally beautiful place... and it's the place of the French comedy... and more. The neighborhood is great anyway. At night, it's even more beautiful... the magic... for a bit, we take dreaming to meet Molière in person.
