  • This church dates from the second half of the 20th century. Pyramidal shape, it has nothing extraordinary else which requires moving... Beware the Church can be visited at the offices... As pictures of the Interior of the Church are already on the site, see the adjoining chapel and the plates of earthenware of the access to this Chapel hall. Come by metro, station "Saint Marcel".

  • This church is located at no. 80 of the boulevard of the hospital and its bell-tower façade is pyramidal, amazing structure that dates back to 1966. The Church pays tribute to Saint Marcel, who was the 9th Bishop of Lutetia to 400 ad. It is part of the trilogy of the patron saints of Saint Denis and Sainte Genevieve Lutetia. the original church was built in 1856 to commemorate the presence of Saint Marcel in the neighborhood, which was buried outside the walls, in 436 along the way gallo-Roman which connected Lutetia to Lugdunum (Lyon), today at the corner of the avenue of goblins and Boulevard Saint Marcel. The first church threatening ruin, the diocese of Paris decides to make the Church we see today in 1966; She deliberately modern and innovative style in concrete, with its bell tower in the shape of pyramid topped by a rooster! Daniel Michelin architect designed this building with a ground floor used for conferences, the Church itself being located on the 1st floor with a Narthex to the outside through a large stained glass window representing Saint Marcel stylized. L ' access to the stairs is located on the right when entering. The use of "triangle and Rhombus" forms is here deliberate. The nave is rectangular style of 900 m2, with a coffered ceiling wooden, diamond and triangle structures, which improves the acoustic quality of the Church. Side modern stained glass windows illuminate the nave. The chorus has a master altar raised blue granite of the Tarn and is lit by a shaft of light coming from the vault, symbolizing the rays from the sky. The way of the cross is good made of panels of enamels cooked on lava, with stylized designs. Of beautiful pushed copper statues flank the altar with the Virgin Mary and Saint Marcel. On the left you can see a reliquary of Saint Marcel under a hunt. On the side left, a large modern style, the Gobelins tapestry symbolizes "Pentecost". Finally, the organ group is deployed across the width of the nave, which is unusual and impressive. It is the work of master Ansbach from Nantes, Beuchet-Debierre of 1967. Its tone is quite exceptional. This church is reached by the metro station "Saint Marcel" line no. 5 or "Campo Venezia" even line.
