  • While passing through the 19th arrondissement where I stopped at the square of The Place de Bitche, at the intersection of Crimean Street and the Quai de l'Oise, I took the opportunity to revisit this great church and deepen its heritage. It was open because a mass was going to be celebrated. In neoclassical style and dedicated to Saints Jacques and Christophe whose statues, works of the sculptor Antoine Laurent Dantan, are located on the front in niches, it was built between 1841 and 1844. Inside, take the time to admire the superb pulpit to preach in marble with its bas-relief depicting Christ converting the nations of the earth, work of the sculptor Dante Sr. made in 1844, the baptismal fonts that are found in the nave, the ceiling of the painted wooden coffered nave, the two frescoes on either side of the altar of the choir depicting Jacob on the left and Saint Christopher on the right works of the painter Georges Leduc in 1930, the stained glass windows of the choir depicting resurrected Jesus surrounded by two angels and Saints Jacques, Christophe, Pierre and Paul, works of the French master glassmaker Louis Charles Marie Champigneulle in 1921. A nice visit. You can come by metro line 7, "Crimea" station.

  • Beautiful little church where I like to gather, to ask or to thank, to pray or just to introspection. The sobriety of the place pleases me. And then sometimes I look at this wooden ceiling. Nice work, really. At the time, we were taking the time to do things right. Honor to these workers there. In conclusion, this little church is a haven of peace.
