  • This church was replaced in 1935, a shed to potatoes, which served as a place of religious service in this area then occupied by poor people. It was dedicated to St. Cecilia then, as the new building is funded in part by the patron Gabriel Dumay, which leads to change the patron Saint of this church which now takes the name of Saint Gabriel. For lack of money, this church is a simple design with few decors, but it has a superb arch painted above the altar, the work of André Hubert Lemaître. This mural represents the Apostles of the Gospel: St. John, St. mark, St. Luke, etc. On the windows of the apse in 3 parts, they represent "The Rosary". They are the work of master glass artist Charles Mauméjean and are beautiful. A choir organ "Cavaillé-Coll" surmounts the altar, which is rare, and makes a good impression. The nave is of simple structure, in the neo-Romanesque style with some decorations in the style of "Art Deco", quite successful. The ambulatories have chapels dedicated, rather simple. But the side chapel dedicated to the Virgin, has a painted decoration made of lilies and doves from very good quality large canopy of the façade, is a juxtaposition of pieces of full color glass, symbolizing the accumulation of cross. In front of the main façade is a large cross painted in blue. I liked the high relief in sandstone, from the 19 th century, located from the right of the nave, representing St. Cecilia directing a children's choir. This church, although simple, no lack of charm and style is worth a visit.

  • The construction of this church spanned from 1932 to 1935. Outside, nothing special. Inside, you can admire the stained glass windows of the choir of Mauméjean, at the entrance of the choir the mural on the CRA and those in the apse, a high relief "Sacred music" representative Sainte Cécile, who heads a chorus of children made by the sculptor good, way of the cross in plates of sandstone, the statues, the altar of the sacred heart with its mosaic decorations and that of the chapel of the Virgin, the large modern organ... A little visit. Come by metro, station "Growers" or bus lines 26 or 64 stop "Court de Vincennes".

  • Un must!!!
  • It is a very pleasant parish in the sense that we look at the envelope i.e. the exterior and interior walls. For the rest it sucks.
