Society of this era, in this upscale neighborhood, worked for the poor. The fire caused the death of 120 people, including many women of the high society of Paris, including the Duchess of Alençon. The Chapel, which exists today, was built in 1900, on the place of the fire of the Bazaar, in memory of the victims. The architect, Albert Guilbert, received a medal of the international exhibition for his work. The name of Consolation is linked to the need to comfort the souls of the dead from the disaster. This Chapel is wedged between two buildings, and is built in the "neo-Baroque" style very marked. The façade is on square elevated with a framing of Corinthian columns supporting a marquee broken with a Medallion. The medallion is framed by two statues representing the "charity" and "Faith" with a dedication "To our Lady of Consolation". The façade is topped by a topped dome of a golden of the Virgin statue. Of each side of the entrance we can see the frontispieces curved with statues of faith and charity, in a fairly responsible style. When I went there, the main portal was not open. Must enter through the small right side door and climb a staircase to get to the nave. This one is under a cupola with arch painted with medallions and the gold and adorned with a dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit. Columns flank the nave with two small low relief carved transept. A Cenotaph is located in a left side chapel. The choir is topped by an arch painted with symmetrical medallions with an openwork Pinnacle. It is bordered by two urns, cenotaphs. The marble altar is in the "Baroque" style with gilt and decorations. The space is small in the nave, due to a peripheral corridor with a way of the cross, dedicated to the victims of the fire at the Charity Bazaar, which the leitmotif of this building. Stained glass windows, including the oculus side are of good quality. As happened just before closing, I had little time to take pictures. This church located 23 Street Stud, is classified Historical Monument since 1982. The days and opening hours are shown on the attached photo.

The Church is open to the hours of the offices. You can come by metro, station "Alma Marceau".
Charming little church with a great history and a real architectural gem. Now in the hands of the SSPX who offer the traditional Mass and teaching it offers so much to the visitor.
