The Bibliothèque-Musée de l'Opéra National de Paris is a library and museum of the Paris Opera and is located in the 9th arrondissement at 8 rue Scribe, Paris, France. It is no longer managed by the Opera, but instead is part of the Music Department of the National Library of France (Bibliothèque nationale de France or BnF). The Paris Opera Library-Museum is open daily; an admission fee is charged.Emperor's PavilionThe Library-Museum is housed in the Palais Garnier in the Rotonde de l'Empereur, a pavilion on the west side of the theatre, which was originally designed to be the private entrance for Emperor Napoleon III. Thus, the Emperor's could directly enter in the building and avoid any assassination attempt. The library is located near the intersection of the rue Scribe with the rue Auber, streets which are named after the librettist Eugène Scribe and the composer Daniel Auber, both of whom had works performed by the Paris Opera. After the Emperor's death in 1873 and the proclamation of the French Third Republicin 1870, President Mac-Mahon refused to use this Pavilion as a private space for the head of state. Charles Nutters succeeded in compelling Charles Garnier in transforming the pavilion into a space for the conservation of the Opera's books and archives.

  • Did carry a lot of travelling, so gorgeous Opera for the first time. Passport as a youth discount. In General, a 26-year-old adults over 16 euro teens is 7 euros. 5 euros more inner voice guide you can get support. I came up with a total of 12 euros, enough prices. A lot of descriptions of the game. Inside the spacious than I thought, very colorful. On the way I saw coming out of the show sounded in the pamphlet from the Earl crossed the 100 euros, friggin' quietly put down pets. Too many decent restaurants, near the building. One day is not enough. I'll be back tomorrow!

  • A unique collection of library of Opera. Address is incorrect here. But you can find accurate information on the site of the library, which contains unique materials on the history of Ballet, music, Opera. Electronic catalogue helps a lot.

  • A beautiful building, fantastic architecture and stunning sights. Did spend a long time trying to get in and didn’t get to spend a long time there either. But definitely worth the visit.
  • If there ever was a most beautiful building, it is this one! The architecture and style will simply blow your mind, not to mention how immaculately preserved it is. The Opera house is still fully functional with shows almost everyday so maybe that helps in its upkeep and maintenance. The main staircase is a masterpiece itself. Every corner of this magical place is a sight to behold. Definitely a must visit on your trip to the city of love.
