  • Apart from the title in English, I will only write in French. This Cathedral of the Anglican Rite also called "the Holy Trinity" is located at no. 23 Avenue Georges V; What is characteristic of this religious building is its tolerance towards all communities including those that the Catholic Church does not recognize as LGBT (whoever you're and come as you are!) who can find refuge here.. This Cathedral, built in 1881 in the neo-Gothic style, has beautiful decorative elements and polychrome stained glass Windows in the historical style. The nave with the high-crossed ceiling of warheads, is bordered by flags of 50 American States. The magnificent 70 m high Spire, which dates from 1901, crowns the Bell Tower. It is in a very airy style with its open sides of lancets and its Summit pyramidions. This building has been inscribed in historic monuments since 1997. You can see frescoes in the lower sides that represent the Gospels. At each Office you can hear beautiful songs accompanied by an organ that resounds well in the nave and creates an atmosphere of joy and good humor. The apse is open with three polychrome stained glass Windows that illuminate the altar. It is topped by a large altarpiece by Edwin Abbey from 1881. The stained glass Windows glorifying the Té Deum, are the work of master glassmaker James Bell from 1883 to 1893. The two side chapels are adorned with superb altarpieces from the XVI and XVII centuries the 1887 Tribune organ, is the prestigious Maitre organ factor Aristide Cavaillé-Coll on Saturdays and Sundays, there are very varied concerts, singing, music, Gospel, choir, etc. that are free access with a participation in the fees. The Cathedral is open from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; On Sundays the offices are held at 9am, 11am and 6pm. Access is via the Metro station "Georges V" on the Champs Elysées, line no. 1

  • We attended the Christmas Eve service and came away disappointed and puzzled. The sanctuary is pleasant enough, but the service left something to be desired. For one thing, this is the "American" cath...  more »
