Canada's largest animal sanctuary, Toronto Zoo shelters over 5,000 animals occupying habitats from seven different zoogeographic regions. Head to the indoor tropical pavilions to see creatures from warmer climates, and then venture to the outdoor habitats, where larger mammals roam spacious areas that mimic their natural environments. Learn about your favorite animals by attending a daily zookeeper talk, and explore exhibits dedicated to baby polar bears, rhinos, pandas, and white lions. Don't miss the award-winning tundra exhibit, designed to teach visitors about the habitats of snow geese, reindeer, snowy owls, and Arctic foxes and wolves. Check the website for available activities, events, and educational programs. For Toronto Zoo and beyond, use our Toronto tour planner to get the most from your Toronto vacation.
Toronto Zoo Reviews
Lugar lindo, imenso, muitas alas para visitar, animais muito bem cuidados. Eu amei o passeio. I loved the ride. The only problem is, I went on a Thursday and barely had any restaurants open, and the ice cream kiosks I saw were also closed. The ideal is to go on season or weekends/holidays. I went to get a snack almost at 4:00 p.m. If I'd known that before, I'd have had a snack because the pic nic area is big. Unmissable tour.
The enclosures are nice and large for the bigger animals and most of those outside were there to see. The rhinos were spectacular as well as the lions. We went to see the kangaroos but unfortunately t... more »
The zoo is located quite far from the city. Either you drive where parking is available or that the multi-connecting transport which takes ages but a good scenic route. The zoo itself is huge. Split into many parts of different theme. Choose what you want as it will be a very long walk. The animals look great in their enclosure. But sometimes can be difficult to find them like the elusive red panda. Other like the polar bear is happy to show you how they swim. The walk through "cave" built under the enclosure allows you to admire the bears' athletic abilities. The souvenir shop will satisfy most choosy children but some counter staff can have a better, especially the ones when we were there. Otherwise it's a must go to place which is for the whole day.
A very large and extremely well maintained zoo. Large, clean, well kept enclosures housing an impressive collection of species. Animals seem well cared for and content. Go early, especially on weekends. By mid afternoon the park is too busy to enjoy. Bring your own food. Prices are high and the food service areas are complete chaos. If you need to bring a stroller, bring a SMALL one! A lot of the exhibits are indoor and the walkways get tight.
