Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, Quebec City

#1 of 109 in Nature in Quebec
Look down over Quebec's highest cascade from atop a suspension bridge at Parc de la Chute-Montmorency. Plunging from a height of 83 m (272 ft), the falls stand 30 m (98 ft) taller than the more famous Niagara Falls. During the colder months, the falls feature a cone of ice known as the Sugar Loaf at their base. Ride a zipline or walk along a clifftop trail in the surrounding park; feel free to bring food with you for a picnic. For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Quebec City holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Despite the very poorly signaled access to the park entrance, the view of the frozen Waterfall is beautiful! The view of the entire frozen canal is also very interesting, as well as the possibility of crossing the bridge over the waterfall. The Way-Departing from the centre of Quebec-is long but easily accessible with only one bus (which leaves us in front of the entrance of the park). It's worth the trip!

  • GPS did not take us to the parking lot at the bottom of the falls when we used the address on the website. We ended up parking at the top first of all, and walking around to different viewing platform...  more »

  • An amazing natural wonder ... that we had no idea even existed. We were in Quebec city and did a quick google search one morning only to find this attraction less than an hour out of town. We thought at worst we'd get to explore la belle province a bit, but we were pleasantly surprised at what we found. Highly recommend walking down the huge staircase down the hill and then the gondola back up. A beautiful little chalet will greet you and then a walk across a bridge right over the falls. The best surprise of our trip!
  • Great place. We loved the waterfall and my kid had a good time around the park there. Nice long bridges to walk right above the water flow which is so nice to watch. Great place for landscape photographers
