Trip Planner: South America / Argentina / Patagonia / Province of Neuquen / Villa La Angostura / Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes
Hike the peaceful trails of Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes, home to 300-year-old arrayan trees, endemic to the Andes. The park was created in 1971 with the sole purpose of protecting the fragile evergreen trees, known for their smooth cinnamon-colored bark and small white flowers. You can hike the 12 km (7.4 mi) from the park entrance to get to the forest, rent a mountain bike, or take a boat ride on Nahuel Huapi Lake. Stroll along the wooden pathway to admire these rare trees, and try to spot foxes, pudus, guanacos, and bush monkeys. Easy access, the sidewalks are free to get in. You can take a boat trip to surround the island, get by trekking or even mountain bikes. There are several spots to shoot some amazing views. There are public bathrooms in the entrance.
Beautiful place, we did the one way trip by boat, the return one walking. This is recommended (unless you do both walking) since it is easier. Bring water and something to eat. The forest is just beautiful. It takes about 2 hours to do the boat and the Arrayanes, then about 3 the trekking.
