#2 of 8 in Winter Sports in San Carlos de Bariloche
Soar over the mountains at high speed taking in the dramatic scenery at Piedras Blancas. The mountain resort, best known for its excellent skiing during winter, now offers a thrilling zipline experience, allowing you to feel like you're flying through the air. If that sounds too intense, head to the region's many hiking paths during the warmer months. In winter, you can tear down the slopes over the powder snow, making the most of the resort's world-class runs and facilities. Piedras Blancas is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, San Carlos de Bariloche Edition.

  • We went to Bariloche in July/2018 and with absolute certainty, Piedras Blancas, was the most fun park we visited (so much so we went twice). It is a very nice park for you to have fun with children and teenagers. The park has several ice lanes where the main attraction is O Skibunda. The first time we arrived around 10am and bought the passport to go up 6 times, but the queues are large and we can go only 5 times. On the second day, we were the first to arrive in the park and climb the runway. We slipped three times practically in a row and it was really cool. The only bad point is the food issue, because the place has only two cafeterias and does not give a bowl to everyone who is in the park. My tip is: Arrive early, have fun as much as you can and around 11:30 already prepare for lunch and find the cafeteria empty and no muvuca.

  • There are several options to spend the day at the complex. I chose zipline and sleds (culipatin). I had no luck with time. There wasn't enough snow and it rained during the week. Anyway, there were only three pistes enabled, in some areas with sand instead of snow and mud puddles. The rocks protruded and colliding with them is not pleasant at all. With the zipline I didn't do very well either because there was a dense fog and nothing could be appreciated.
