Centro Civico, San Carlos de Bariloche

The symbol of the city, Centro Civico surprises many visitors with its Alpine-style architecture and fine views of Nahuel Huapi Lake. Made from distinctive greenish stone and dating back to 1940, the complex houses many of the city's important offices, such as police headquarters, a library, and the city council. The most popular part of the complex is the Francisco P. Moreno Museum of Patagonia, which displays everything from the natural to the cultural history of the region. The square in front of the complex is dominated by the statue of General Julio Argentino Roca, former president of Argentina. A visit to Centro Civico represents just the start of the adventure when you use our San Carlos de Bariloche trip builder site to plot your vacation.

  • In my opinion this is the first place to visit when you get to the city if you stay in the center. There is a variety of shops, tourist attention, excellent views, National Library and beautiful public buildings. It's very clean and well kept. I do not pay for the photos with the Dogs San Bernardo, I think they are fiolando, but other than that, is mandatory stop.

  • It is the fourth time I travel to Bariloche, I did in different years, this last trip I saw it really ugly, left, with a cart of food made in balsa wood, or placed directly on the grounds, sloppy, messy. Nothing to do with the memory I had of such a emblematic place in Bariloche. a shame.
