El Rio ... more »During the 35 km of the route to the desert Lake you can appreciate incredible landscapes with different types of vegetation. First more rugged and the last stretches forests of immense trees. The Rio de las Vueltas, very plentiful, accompanies you almost all the way. All along the way there are several viewpoints to appreciate the Andean landscape. Always present the imposing silhouette of the Ritz Roy Hill. On arrival, the desert lake bordered by an impressive vegetation extends almost to the border with Chile. It's good to bring food. There are lake excursions. A point and apart deserves the bad state of the gravel road with stretches with large stones dangerous for tires.
A beautiful place with all the appeal of this area of hanging glaciers and lush vegetation and a whole history in litigation to establish the border boundaries and the property of the desert lake that finally remained for Argentina
