  • Despite seeing it at a distance, it is authentically impressive. See the three arms of the glacier falling towards the water with the wall of 80 meters and surrounded by iceberg bluish. The Ice rivers excursion is worth it.

  • We spotted this glacier from afar because it is very unstable and several pieces are detached. On the way, we found several icebergs. Tour Rios de Hielo with Solo Patagonia

  • Crossing the iceberg barrier to the impressive and beautiful glacier. The visit to this glacier is part of the excursion called "Rivers of Ice Express". You are transported by car from El Calafate to Puerto Punta Bandera (although you can make the displacement on your own) through 50 km of road through the Patagonian steppe bordering the Lago Argentino, a beautiful landscape with some stop to appreciate the beauty of this Lake. It embarks on the port to carry out a navigation through the north arm of the lake to the Upsala glacier, for what must be crossed the "barrier of icebergs", that is to say a large number of icebergs that have fallen off the glacier and that they sail slowly by the lake; It is a truly impressive journey, passing to the very side of one and the other glacier to each more beautiful, pale blue ones and a deep blue that is not easy to find in nature others, strange, mysterious and whimsical shapes. The boat cannot get too close to the glacier because of the danger of the many landslides. The trip is done on a comfortable boat, and you can be in your seat inside the cabin or go outside whenever you want. The show in the whole route is impressive and beautiful, and it must be said that it is not something that the boats do to cover the file, the truth is that the patterns are worried, the boat is for around icebergs, they approach the maximum to the base of the glacier , moves here and there to offer the best prospects; Anyway, a 10 for them. The tour from the hotel lasts about 8 hours and the price is not cheap, about 105 euros per person, but it is well worth it. On the boat they have a cafeteria service to be able to have a drink during the return.
