  • In the centre of the village and on the main road this pleasant Park welcomes visitors. In the garden some statues of various characters and various types of even and non plants. There is also a good center with all the information about the various glaciers in the area

  • In the National Parks Quartermaster you will be able to obtain information and maps of Los Glaciares National Park. I recommend doing this visit the first day they arrive in El Calafate because one can approximate what you will see on the rides... There is a small (literally) museum that tells the story of how to populated the area where the glaciers today (before being declared as such), the first families who came to the area favored by policies of the Argentine government that gave land to the They will work for 30 years and created the rooms that can be visited today (Nibepo Aike, Cristina, Helsingford, Alice). It also tells how the process of creating the park was and how the glaciers evolved and how it was the environmental impact over the years. On the outskirts of this museum there is a beautiful park with flowers and trees, each one with its sign that explains what they are and what they can be used for. There are also sculptures that relate the life of Pascasio "Perito" Moreno, the discoverer of Lago Argentino (although he never knew the glacier P. Moreno!) and the father of the Nac parks in Argentina. I advise to combine this tour with the visit to the Glaciarium the first day, they will not repent. This activity is free and can be done completely in an hour and a half.

  • Great exhibits of the park and its history.
  • Old pictures of el Calafate. Staff a bit uninterested to give information.
