Calle Museo Caminito, Buenos Aires

See street art come to life at Calle Museo Caminito, a traditional alley that doubles as an open-air museum. Created by local artist Benito Quinquela Martin in the 1950s, the art project breathed life into a run-down part of town, transforming it into one of the city's most iconic spots. Appreciate the brightly colored houses and intricate paintings, which line the alleyway like a patchwork quilt. Tango lovers can share a passionate dance in the alley--this is where the famous Caminito tango was born. • Good place to buy gifts and souvenirs. A lot more into the business than buying in the city. It has diversities of products. Some restaurants leave to be desired in the deal with tourists.

  • Whilst being very commercialised and full of tourists it is worth walking along the old railway track to see some fantastic street art.  more »
